The Journal of the University of Leeds Climbing Club

Easter 1963
Edited by David Nicol

This edition opens with an editorial noting a marked rise in enthusiasm and climbing standards within the club, as well as the milestone of moving to a fully undergraduate committee for the first time in many years. It also marks an increase in photographic content in The Journal, following the 1961 "new look" Journal. This issue additionally reflects a growing interest in artificial climbing, with early commentary on the popularity of 'pegging' in the 1960s and guidance for new climbers around suitable rock types and local possibilities.

A physical copy is available in the Leeds University Edward Boyle Library.
